[개요]

아트 센터 칼리지 오브 디자인(Art Center College of Design)은 미국의 대학으로, 주로 디자인에 특화된 학과가 많이 설치되어 있습니다. 흔히 약자로 ACCD로 많이 불리며 아트센터(the Art Center)라는 약칭 또한 잘 알려져 있습니다. 일반적으로 대한민국의 언론들 사이에서는 패서디나 아트센터 대학이라는 이름으로도 잘 알려져 있습니다.

실용성과 실무성, 상업성을 중시하는 학풍이 강하며, 미국과 다른 여러 나라의 대기업들로부터 각광을 받는 대학이기도합니다. 아트센터 디자인 대학교에는 교수라는 직함이 존재하지 않는 대신, 교직원 전원이 강사(instructor)라는 직함을가지고 있으며, 대부분은 미국 내의 현존하는 게임 회사나, 자동차 제조 회사 등에서 근무하는 현직 직원이기도 합니다.캠퍼스로는 힐사이드 캠퍼스와 사우스 캠퍼스의 두 군데가 있습니다.

아트 센터 칼리지 오브 디자인은 학사와 석사과정을 제공 하고 있으며, 지원하는 과정에서는 학교 홈페이지에서 제공되는 양식의 온라인 원서, 고등학교 성적표, 토플 점수, 포트폴리오 등을 요구합니다.

[About Art Center College of Design]

Art Center College of Design (Art Center) is a nonprofit, private college located in Pasadena, California. The Art Center College of Design was founded in 1930 in downtown Los Angeles as the Art Center School. Art Center offers undergraduate and graduate programs in a wide variety of art and design fields, as well as public programs for children and high school students, and continuing studies for adults in the Los Angeles metro area. It is one of the few schools to offer a degree in Interaction Design. The college maintains two campuses in Pasadena; both are considered architecturally notable. The college’s undergraduate and graduate industrial design programs are consistently ranked number one by Design Intelligence.
