• About the Program
Sejong University offers
Korean language classes and an opportunity to experience Korean traditional
culture for those who are interested in learning about Korea for two weeks. In
the morning, the participants will attend Korean language classes taught by the
Center’s Korean teachers, focusing on practicing common daily Korean
expressions through listening and speaking. In the afternoon, a variety of
cultural activities, including K-pop and K-pop dances classes, meeting Korean
celebrities, visits to Seoul’s hot spots and experiencing Korean traditional
culture, will be offered.
This is a two-week program, consisting of Parts 1 and 2, which offer two different sets of activities so that the participant can choose to take both without the activities overlapping.
• The participants can choose to take:
• Accommodation
- The Sejong Guesthouse, 14th fl., Gwangaeto-gwan, Sejong University: KRW 250,000
- All rooms are four persons (include air-conditioning, a bathroom, bedding, Internet access and a refrigerator)
- Meals are not included but you can use the school restaurant/cafeteria that offer a variety of menu options.
• Morning Korean Language Program
- The Center’s for Beginner and Intermediate courses will be offered.
- Fifteen students will be grouped into one class (minimum of seven students in one class)
• Afternoon K-Culture Program
- Participants are able to choose either practicing K-POP Dance or Taekwondo
- Visit to hot spot in Seoul, experiencing traditional culture, watching popular cultural event, and etc.
• Credit Recognition
- Two credit points will be issued to the participants who successfully complete the two-week program.
- The credit recognition policies may vary among universities. Please contact your university staff in advance to find out about your school’s credit recognition policy in detail.
• Miscellaneous
- Please contact the Program staff for information on weekend programs if you want to go on a weekend trip.
- Sejong University’s Korean students will accompany you as your “buddies.”
• Timetable

- K-pop or Taekwondo class
You will learn how to do the latest and hottest K-pop dance moves. You will join other participants from different cultural backgrounds to form a group and present a group performance. Or you will have a chance to practice Taekwondo national sport of Korea
- Visits to Seoul’s hot spots
You will be provided information on famous landmarks in Seoul and be given a chance to choose one to visit yourself. The landmarks to be introduced include: the five palaces of the Joseon Dynasty, the largest shopping district Myeong-dong, the National Museum of Korea that can offer you a panoramic view of Korean history, the N-Tower overlooking the entire Seoul metropolitan area, the World Cup stadium, one of the venues of the 2002 World Cup games, and the magnificent Han River traversing the city of Seoul.
- Korean traditional cultural experience
You can choose a Korean traditional activity to take part in and get hands-on experience. The activities offered include: dynamic Samulnori (percussion quartet), traditional Korean martial art Taekkyeon, Korea’s national martial art Taekwondo, Talchum (mask dance) that reflects the commoners’ sentiment, and a Korean cooking class where you can learn how to prepare Korean dishes that emphasize balance between health and taste.
- Attending a popular cultural event
You can choose a popular cultural even to attend: Nanta, The Painters: Heroes, Bebop, Musical Kung, Jump and The Smile, a traditional artistic performance.
- Farewell party and student performances
You will have a chance to take a look back on your time here and say goodbye. You will also have an opportunity to show the other participants what you have learned in your K-pop dance class. This will be a great chance for the participants to introduce their culture to other participants from different cultures.
- Visiting to one of major Korean broadcast or K-POP center
You will have a chance to visit to one of the major Korean broadcast or K-pop center and learn about Korean broadcasting culture.

All courses are taught entirely in English. It is one of the few programs in Korea with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation, which is considered the highest mark of a business school’s education quality. Graduates will receive an MBA degree from Sejong University and Certificate of Completion from Syracuse University.
• About the Sejong Korean Language Center
The Center is named after Sejong the Great (or Sejong Daewang), the 4th king of Joseon (Korea’s last dynasty) who created ‘hangul’, the Korean alphabet and is one of the most respected kings by Koreans. Sejong the Great created hangul, an alphabet Koreans from all classes could learn and use quickly and easily. Succeeding the legacy of Sejong the Great, the Sejong Korean Language Center helps people from all over the world learn the Korean language in a fun and easy manner through offering various educational courses. The Center’s accumulated expertise and competent teaching staff will be the guide for your journey to learn about the Korean language and culture.
