About Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality

The Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality (SSTH) is an institution of higher education located in Passugg in Switzerland. The fields of study include tourism, gastronomy, hospitality and management. Courses of study range from basic vocational education with apprenticeship, higher vocational education to undergraduate and postgraduate education.


SSTH was founded by Dr. Markus Christoffel in 1966. Since 1988, the former spa hotel in Passugg serves as the educational facility for the 300 plus students at the College of Applied Sciences. With the international orientation of the school students from more than 40 nations study their education at SSTH. As the first recognised German speaking Hotel School, SSTH has been teaching according to the new Swiss national frame work since 2009.

Entry Requirements


Age:

  • Minimum 18 years of age when entering the Swiss Professional Degree, 17 for the Preparatory Year.

Academic Requirements (one of the following):

  • Final secondary school certificate/diploma in own country
  • American High School diploma plus satisfactory SAT 1 scores
  • German Abitur
  • IB Diploma
  • IB Certificate
  • BTEC Diploma Level 3
  • IB Career related certificates
  • Other Baccalaureate
  • 2 British A’ levels
  • Swiss academic and/or professional Matura or
  • Professional diploma (apprentice certificate)

Language Requirements (one of the following):

  • IELTS academic module, with a minimum score of 5.5
  • TOEFL, with a minimum score of 46 (iBT)
  • Cambridge Advanced Examination, with a C minimum
  • First Certificate Examination, with a score of A only
